36hr weather forecast

Ice / Hoar Frost – Black ice forecast from 1am to 10am
Snow – Forecast from 7pm to 1am
Minimum Road Surface Temperature -4.5°C
Minimum Air Temperature -4.6°C

Any hazy sunshine first thing will fade as cloud thickens, bringing outbreaks of light rain or drizzle. Cold.

Tomorrow will be a cold but dry and fine day with periods of winter sunshine and just a little patchy cloud at times.

Road conditions:

A wintry mix of precipitation will move in from the west today, bringing the potential for some sleet/snow on the higher ground, particularly later this afternoon (mainly above 200-250m or so). As a result, road surface temperatures on the high ground may behave erratically today. Road surface temperatures are then expected to fall below zero more widely tonight, as skies clear. A331 Road Closure Latest as of 14.30 2/11/18

We closed the carriageway last night so we could move in the equipment necessary to carry out the clean-up operation and our hope was to finish this work last light. Unfortunately due to the amount and type of oil on the road this we were not able to finish this work and the carriage way is still contaminated and unsafe so we have had to leave the lane closed.

The decision was taken to reinstate the road closure from 9.30am to finish the clean-up which has now been done. There is some damage to the road surface which they are repairing now and the road will be fully open shortly.

We undated all of our system which feed the live traffic information and sat navs, we circulated the information via social media and to the local radio stations.

I can only apologies for the delays this caused and that some people did not receive the information but safety must always come first.
